eUnited has released it’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team according to a tweet from Ryan “freakazoid” Abadir. There’s been no official statement from the organization at this time, however, there hasn’t been much comment regarding the CS:GO team for some time now.
The lineup was in the midst of competing in the Americas Minor when freakazoid made the announcement. The team is currently using Maxim “wippie” Shepelev in place of Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro who is unable to participate for the team due to qualifying for the event alongside the Rugratz roster.
When Zellsis was brought in on a full-time status but not signed to the organization many began to speculate as to whether or not the team would be continuing to compete under the eUnited banner.
eUnited had been unable to find much consistency in terms of improvement and results recently, and in many eyes, they’d begun only consistently performing worse. The team was picking up losses to teams that were shocking to fans and it didn’t seem to be one-off events but rather their real level. Add in the fact that the team lost its spot in the ESL Pro League following ESL’s decision to drop the league to 24 total teams from 48 and it’s not totally unexpected.
The tweet from freakazoid implies the team may be returning to its old name of SWOLE PATROL while they assumingly look for another organization to call home.
