Leaker states dozens of remastered maps coming to Modern Warfare

This past week has been one for the record books for Call of Duty leaks. We’ve seen a ton of information surface regarding Modern Warfare 2 Remastered, which turned out to be true. Also, some leaks about future remastered titles have arisen leading to even more speculation. However, the most recent leak may trump them all and it comes from none other than well-known leaker TheGamingRevolution (TGR). He tweeted out earlier today that Activision is working on more remastered maps for Modern Warfare in 2020.

Modern Warfare to receive more remastered maps?

In the two seasons of Modern Warfare so far, there has been a fair amount of remade maps. From Rust to Vacant to Shipment, each season has brought two or more fan-favorite maps, which have been great introductions to the rotation.

Though, there could be even more on the way. TheGamingRevolution is stating that Activision has dozens of remastered maps in the works. Supposedly, these maps will arrive in Modern Warfare and be thrust into the map pool.

I was told that they’re planning on making Modern Warfare a “best of” modern warfare game and there’s around 60, yes that’s right, 60 multiplayer maps in the works for modern warfare right now that will mainly be remasters of fan favourites from the trilogy.

It makes sense because there’s already a tonne in the files and that’s not everything. Weird because pre-release they said they didn’t want to make the game a “best of” modern warfare game.

Essentially, TGR is saying that Activision is planning to turn Modern Warfare into a mashup of sorts. Instead of there being title-specific content, there will reportedly be a plethora of old maps remastered for the current generation. These maps will come from the previous three titles in the series.

The leaker didn’t mention if there would be any additional content coming with the maps, such as weapons. However, as we’ve seen with Call of Duty: Mobile, Activision isn’t afraid to throw different elements from past Call of Duty games into one title.

As always, this is only a leak and isn’t substantiated by anything other than this tweet. So, take the information with a grain of salt even though TGR has a great track record with leaks.
