After a streak of two years, Natus Vincere have finally bested Team Liquid in a best-of-three. Na’Vi defeated Liquid in their IEM Katowice quarterfinal match 2-0 to secure their tournament life and send the North Americans home.
Expectedly so, Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev was the Na’Vi player leading the charge in the server where he finished the series at 47-33 with 86 average damage per round. Surprisingly enough, it wasn’t the highest in the server as Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski of Liquid bested him by a whopping 15.8 damage per round to finish at 101.8 and a +11 kill-to-death differential.
In a pre-game interview, s1mple stated he was desperately wanting to end the curse of losing to Liquid in best-of-three series and now they’ve done just that.
In their previous six meetings, Na’Vi had only managed to win one map, losing 2-0 in the other five encounters.
Recent match-ups between Liquid and Na’Vi:

Na’vi will now head into the semifinals where they’ll be taking on the world’s No. 1 ranked team in the form of Astralis. The Danish side has shown two sides in 2020 and will need to be firing on all cylinders to take down a Na’Vi that seems to be flying high on confidence and skill.
