Philippines ex-senator & VP runner up plays Mobile Legends: Bang Bang in an attempt to connect to youth

Esports is becoming such a worldwide phenomenon that even politicians are starting to utilize it in an attempt to reach the gaming demographic. One recent example is ex-Senator and 2016 Vice-Presidential election runner up Bongbong Marcos.

The song of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos, Bongbong took to YouTube to post a vlog showing his attempt to learn the game while several streamers attempted to help him figure it out. The 62-year-old was definitely struggling, however.

You can check out the video below, but be aware only slightly over 30 seconds of it is actual gameplay.

He was committing some of the ultimate sins of MOBAs by doing things like diving towers, but I’m sure he was having fun trying to figure it out regardless.

It’s an interesting step for the ex-Senator given his father’s stance on video games, which was a complete ban of them during his rule according to a Facebook post by Interaksyon. This was met with equal scrutiny on Twitter where people responded to a tweet from Bongbong,
