After a slow start to their 2020 season, the Los Angeles Guerrillas have announced the addition of two new players to their roster — Reece “Vivid” Drost and Kris “Spart” Cervantez. This roster announcement comes just before the Guerrillas are set to co-host the Call of Duty League LA Weekend alongside OpTic Gaming Los Angeles.
Vivid comes from Hybrid Gaming, a Call of Duty Challengers team affiliated with the Seattle Surge, another Call of Duty League team that has struggled at the start of the inaugural season. He also played with Sage eSports during the later-part of the Call of Duty World League. Spart gets called up from AF Academy who recently won the Call of Duty Challengers Atlanta Open hosted by their affiliated team the Atlanta FaZe during their own home weekend.
The Los Angeles Guerrillas have fared better than their OpTic Gaming counterpart, but have struggled early with only one win out of four matches and tied for 8th place out of 12 teams in the standings. They looked decent early during the opening weekend in Minnesota but haven’t seemed to gel since.
With some of these new roster additions, the Guerrillas hope to be in a better position for the Los Angeles weekend as they look to bounce back against some tough opponents over Saturday and Sunday. It is unclear how much of a role Vivid and Spart will play for the Guerrillas this weekend and as the season progresses, but it is a solid move by Los Angeles to add some more players to the roster in hopes of competing for play time.
