Pokemon Go developer Niantic recently announced that it is teaming up with GrubHub to host a special event for GrubHub+ members in November, but that’s not the only exclusive in-game event happening next month. The studio has announced it is also partnering with Verizon for another Special Weekend, and it’ll likewise feature exclusive Research tasks, Pokemon spawns, and more.
The Verizon Special Weekend event takes place on November 7. To participate, you’ll need to be a Verizon user and claim a virtual ticket through the Verizon Up app. Tickets are limited to one per Pokemon Go account and will be available up until the event begins.
The Special Weekend runs from 11 AM to 2 PM local time. Throughout the event, participants will be able to complete exclusive Timed Research tasks and earn various rewards, including Charizard Mega Energy and encounters with certain Pokemon such as Chansey, Absol, Bronzor, and Gible. The following Pokemon will also appear when you use an Incense during the event:
- Unown V
- Unown Z
- Shiny Ferroseed
Finally, any Incense that are used during the event will remain active for one hour rather than the usual 30 minutes, and all participants will receive an exclusive in-game medal for taking part in the event. You can read more details about the Verizon Special Weekend on the Pokemon Go website.
In the meantime, Pokemon Go’s Halloween 2020 celebration is just around the corner. That event kicks off this Friday, October 23, and runs until November 3. As usual, there will be increased Ghost Pokemon spawns throughout the event, including a couple of debuting monsters like Galarian Yamask and costumed Gengar. The Legendary Darkrai will also return to five-star Raid Battles, and there will be a special Raid Day on Halloween featuring Alolan Marowak.
