PlayStation owners will get to enjoy another exclusive Call Of Duty mode, whilst Xbox and PC owners have to wait a year.
The Zombies mode for Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available on all formats but there’s one special option that’s going to be only for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Called Zombies Onslaught, it’s a two-player co-op mode where the goal is to simply survive against waves of zombies, all taking place on the game’s multiplayer maps.
The new trailer gives a brief glimpse at large zombie swarms and some of the different types you will encounter, such as dog-like zombies and even giant ones wearing radiation suits.
Players who manage to survive long enough will unlock exclusive rewards as well. Good news for PlayStation fans, less so for everyone else.
While the trailer does confirm that the mode will come to Xbox and PC versions, it won’t happen until November 2021, a whole year after release.
This hasn’t sat well with Xbox and PC players, with some of the comments for the trailer commentating that, by that time, everyone will have most likely moved on to a new Call Of Duty game.
Others have also pointed out the irony of Cold War offering cross-play, yet locking a mode to certain consoles, as well as the PlayStation 5’s tagline being ‘Play has no limits’.
This isn’t the first time this has happened either. Last year’s Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare had a Survival mode exclusive to the PlayStation 4, which greatly angered Xbox and PC players at the time, and was only added to the other versions earlier this month.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will release on November 13 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
