Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered rumoured for 2020 release

A 2020 Call Of Duty game is most definitely on the cards, but could it be the long-rumoured Modern Warfare 2 remaster?

We’ve known for a while that a new Call Of Duty game is due for release this year. And even if Activision hadn’t confirmed it, the company tends to have a entry out every year. But who’s to say it has to be a brand new one?

A new rumour claims that this year’s release will actually be a remaster of 2009’s insanely popular Modern Warfare 2.

There have been rumours about a potential remaster since as early as March 2018, although the only details we had then were that it would only feature the single-player campaign, with seemingly no multiplayer.

At the end of February, Twitter user Okami claimed the contrary, stating that Modern Warfare 2 Remastered would release this year and have multiplayer.

More recently, they claimed to have information about the upcoming Warzone mode for Modern Warfare, stating that it would launch 10 March and that we’d see a trailer for it either Thursday, 5 March or Monday 9, March.

Thursday has obviously come and gone, but should a trailer drop on Monday and confirm Okami’s info, then they believe it will legitimise their claims about Modern Warfare 2 Remastered.

It could be that it’s been decided that two years isn’t enough for Treyarch to get a good job done and that the remaster, plus the continuing success of last year’s Modern Warfare and the rumoured Warzone mode, will give them the breathing space they need.
