Call Of Duty: Warzone finally gets duos, just not for battle royale

After it was previously leaked, Call Of Duty: Warzone has received its duos option, but it’s currently only available in Plunder mode.

We already knew that Call Of Duty: Warzone, the battle royale companion title to Modern Warfare, would be receiving a duos mode that allows teams of two to compete in battle.

Now, the mode has finally been added but, strangely enough, it isn’t available for the game’s main battle royale mode. Instead, you can only play duos in the Plunder mode.

Plunder does take place on the same map as battle royale, with the difference being that the goal is to earn the most cash, as well as automatic respawns and the option to freely explore the whole map.

This decision is likely to draw ire from the player-base, who have already been upset enough in recent weeks by Infinity Ward constantly trying to removing trios.

According to VGC, however, Infinity Ward had planned to add battle royale duos sometime in the next few weeks, but is now reconsidering its strategy following the aforementioned criticisms it received for how it handles the playlist rotation.

In the meantime, Modern Warfare has received its latest update which, aside from some general fixes, has reintroduced Drop Zone, a very popular mode that was first introduced in Modern Warfare 3.

Teams compete for points by taking control of drop zones. Standing within the zone gradually earns you points, but you can get more by having multiple team members in the zone. The full details can be found on Activision’s website.

The update has also come with two new ‘Stir Crazy’ 10v10 playlists. The standard one can be used for the Cranked, Kill Confirmed, Domination, and Hardpoint modes.

The Hardcore one, meanwhile, is for the same modes, except swapping Hardpoint for Team Deathmatch instead.

Call Of Duty: Warzone and Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare are available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
