What's harder than Dark Souls? Playing two Dark Souls' at once. That's what Twitch streamer DeliquentGhost is up to, holding one controller in each hand as they frantically go from boss to boss, beating two instances of the game simultaneously.
Sharing the stream to Reddit, they revealed that they've managed to get past the Asylum Demon, Taurus Demon, optional Moonlight Butterfly, and Belfry Gargoyles so far, putting them halfway through the first leg of the game. One more bell to go, then Sen's Fortress, Anor Londo with two, now four, bosses at once, and then the final stretch with the Bed of Chaos, Nito, and all other manners of difficult abominations.
In the clip embedded below, you can see how the stream works. Two screens are visible to watch with two camera perspectives showing that DelinquentGhost has a controller on each lap, using one hand to navigate each. Their concentration and reflexes will no doubt be put to the test having to watch, predict, and dodge the same boss' patterns twice at the same time.
The bottom of the screen also has a sub-counter to reflect what bosses will be fought at each level. At 20, they'll take on the Capra Demon, then at 30, the Gaping Dragon. It goes on to feature Queelag, the Iron Golem, Ornstein and Smough, Priscilla, Seath, Firesage, Gwyn, and even the DLC bosses like Artorias.
But given their setup, they can't read chat, so they've set up a text-to-speech system for subs, letting them keep in touch with their audience while they power through two Dark Souls' at once.
In the video, we see them take down the same tutorial boss twice simultaneously, and it looks as though they're using the same build as both characters have the same starting class and gear. That should keep things simpler to manage. If both can get a Black Knight weapon, it might make the earlier game a little easier, but we could end up seeing one overpower the other before the end.
