Elder Scrolls Online Is Free To Play Until April 26

In anticipation of its upcoming High Isle expansion, The Elder Scrolls Online is currently holding a free trial. You can jump into all the action that Tamriel has to offer on Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, or Stadia completely free for a limited time. This trial is only available until April 26, so if you've been on the fence about joining the online RPG, now is the perfect time to log in.

Taking advantage of this free trial gives you access to the main game, as well as the Vvardenfell zone from the Morrowind DLC. Plus, to get players ready for the High Isle expansion, this trial lets you try out the prologue quest for the latest DLC. And, if you try out the game and decide to continue beyond the free trial, any and all progress made will carry over to the full game.

The Elder Scrolls free trial is meant to get players ready for the High Isle expansion. This add-on is arriving to ESO this summer, June 6. It brings with it a new landmass that is dedicated entirely to the Bretons and their way of life. As with other ESO expansions, High Isle offers more storylines, more side quests, more NPCs, and the return of some familiar faces. However, what sets this expansion apart from the previous is the addition of the card game, Tales of Tribute.

In a preview of this new card game, we noted that it feels like an actual tabletop game set within the ESO world. Its system is pretty straightforward, where players play cards that give them gold and power. Gold is used to buy more cards, and power is what nets you points. At the end of the game, the player with the most points wins. It is a quiet, but welcome, change of pace from the usual PvP that ESO offers.

So, if you haven’t yet had the opportunity to jump into the fun of Elder Scrolls, now is the best time to do so. If you decide to stick around, you can pre-purchase the High Isle expansion and get immediate access to the base game and all previous chapters.
