FAR: Changing Tides Set To Launch March 1

Frontier Foundry has revealed that FAR: Changing Tides is launching on March 1 across PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and is coming to Game Pass on day one.

Pre-orders for the game have already gone live across a range of platforms including Xbox and PlayStation consoles as well as PC via the Epic Games Store and Steam. FAR: Changing Tides pre-orders for Nintendo Switch will be available in February. Initially, the developer planned to launch the game in late 2021, but the pandemic called for adjustments.

For those patiently awaiting the sequel to FAR: Lone Sails, the Swiss developer Okomotive has provided new gameplay footage, offering a look at Changing Tides's fascinating graphics, Joel Schoch's music, and the isolated atmosphere of a flooded world. The studio also prepared a special meditative Soundwave experience called Above aimed at those who want to lose themselves in the gentle lapping of the waves accompanied by the rhythmic hum of a giant engine.

FAR: Changing Tides is the latest installment in the FAR universe which began in 2018 with Lone Sails. This time, players will explore the vast ocean and its depths instead of a post-apocalyptic desert where the oceans have dried up. The core gameplay, however, will remain mostly intact: to keep your vehicle on the move, you have to navigate around inside it and perform various actions with its mechanisms like well-timed refilling or repairs. The protagonist named Toe can also leave the steampunk-style ship and explore the environment on their own, gathering parts, resources, and solving different puzzles to continue the journey.

FAR: Lone Sails received a great reception from its audience. The game is currently standing at Very Positive on Steam. There are just under two months left until you can explore the more dynamic and less predictable setting of the sequel, bonding with your ship along the way.
