GTA 5 Online UPDATE: New PS4 and Xbox One Grand Theft Auto news

It sounds like something new is being worked on for GTA 5 Online, or perhaps even GTA 6, that will be revealed in the coming weeks. Fans already know about the new GTA Online update launching this week, and there could be a few other hints being found, regarding the future plans for Grand Theft Auto. The continuing popularity of GTA Online has made sure that Rockstar Games will continue to support it in 2020.

Parent company Take-Two Interactive has even gone as far as to say that GTA 5 Online is on course to set new records in recurrent spending this year.

And a new rumour out this week suggests that a new Grand Theft Auto update could be revealed in the coming weeks.

A post shared online claims that a new music track request has been issued by Rockstar Games.

The licensing would be for a song called Black Locks by the rapper Young Dolph, and would apparently be used for some kind of video content.

The report states: “A person I trust that is involved in clearing the licensing for music used in movies & sometimes video game trailers informed me this afternoon that her company had to get a rap song cleared called Black Locks by the rapper Young Dolph for Rockstar games,” the post reads.

“Only the instrumental is being used as far as I know. From her understanding company’s only reach out to her for clearance less than a month before the release of the trailer to the public so I imagine we will finally get to see the new game?”

This post suggests that something is being worked on by Rockstar Games and it could be revealed very soon, perhaps even in the coming weeks.

It should be noted that the original poster believed that this could be connected to the release of GTA 6, which remains a possibility.

And while there is no guarantee at this point it has anything to do with the Grand Theft Auto franchise, it would certainly fit in with what we know about GTA 5.

While the music fits with the setting, it would also make sense that Rockstar Games would be gearing for its next big GTA DLC.

We know that the new Open Wheel Racing Series is coming to GTA 5 Online on February 27.

And while this will add new F1 Racing Car options to the game, it probably isn’t the next major expansion.

Telling fans they had plans following the Open Wheel launch, Rockstar Games announced earlier this year:

“There is still much more to come in 2020. Next up for GTA Online is the addition of an open wheel racing series featuring all new vehicle types – with tense, high speed, track-based racing where tight cornering, tactical tire choices and perfectly timed pit stops make every second count.

“Plus, expect more big updates and a few surprises as we move forward into the year.

“Whether you have been away for a while or have never had a chance to play before, there has never been a better time to immerse yourself in these two vast and unique living online worlds.

“Once again, a gigantic and heartfelt thank you to everyone who has joined us in this ongoing journey.

“Stay tuned to the Rockstar Newswire for all the latest on future updates and much more.”

While new GTA Online updates are being planned, we also know that Rockstar Games are working on other big projects.

This includes GTA 6, which has yet to be unveiled by the Rockstar development team. It’s unclear how long we will have to wait for a trailer and it would certainly come as a big surprise for one to land in the coming weeks.

But with all things connected with Rockstar Games, it’s hard to guess when the next major reveal will be made, with everything still a possibility at this stage.
