If you’ve ever wondered what it’d be like to experience the violence of Mortal Kombat 11 in first-person, well, wonder no longer. Thanks to the MK11Hook mod, you can put the camera inside Scorpion’s head to experience exactly what he would when his skull gets cracked in half.
We’ve got modder ermaccer to thank for this latest iteration of free camera mod which started in MKXHook. The mod comes pre-set with both a first-person and third-person camera position, but also has a free camera control to let you place the camera wherever you’d like.
MK11Hook also comes with speed controls to let you play Mortal Kombat in Matrix-style slow motion if you really wanted.
But the big selling point here will undoubtedly be the first and third-person camera positioning, which will let you experience Mortal Kombat 11 in a totally new way. It’ll also quickly teach players why NetherRealm never bothered with a first or third-person camera option because it renders the game pretty much unplayable.
In third-person mode, you can’t see the enemy at all because your own character is blocking your view, so it becomes impossible to respond to your opponent’s actions. This problem isn’t quite so bad in first-person mode, but you definitely have to have good knowledge of the map and your own character because you can’t see what you’re doing.
Both camera views also provide an excellent view of some of the lesser-viewed corners of the map, which sometimes shows off areas that were never totally finished because the player should never be able to see them in the actual game.
In relatively recent Mortal Kombat news, you can live out your mid-’90s fantasies by playing with each of Mortal Kombat 11’s characters as they looked in the 1995 Mortal Kombat film. And players have recently figured out what that weird meteor can do in the Towers of Time. See the solution here.
