If you own a PS5 and want to find out more about upcoming game releases, then you’ll definitely want to check out this week’s PlayStation Showcase event. The next PlayStation Showcase event takes place at 9pm BST UK time on the evening of May 24. Running for roughly an hour, the show will be broadcast live on the PlayStation YouTube channel. According to Sony, it will focus on upcoming PS5 and PSVR 2 games, featuring a mixture of brand new announcements and gameplay trailers. You can watch it live by clicking play on the video below.
The news was announced by Sony: “It’s almost time to see what’s next — PlayStation Showcase broadcasts live next Wednesday, May 24 at 1pm Pacific Time / 9pm British Time.
“The show will run a bit over an hour, focusing on PS5 and PS VR2 games in development from top studios from around the world.
“Expect a glimpse at several new creations from PlayStation Studios, as well as spellbinding games from our third-party partners and indie creators.”
In terms of what fans can expect, Sony is almost certain to give fans a look at exclusives like Spider-Man 2 and Final Fantasy 16.
Indeed, with Square Enix confirming plans to release a FF16 demo ahead of launch, don’t be surprised if it drops later today. At the very least Final Fantasy 16 will get a new gameplay trailer.
There are also rumours that Konami will announce a number of new Metal Gear Solid projects.
The most likely candidate for the PlayStation Showcase is the rumoured Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake.
Konami is reportedly working on a Metal Gear Solid Collection, featuring remastered versions of the original trilogy.
Elsewhere, fans have discovered evidence that a Bloodborne has been developed for PC.
With Sony releasing multiple PlayStation exclusives on PC in recent years, there’s a good chance the FromSoftware classic will get a port.
