UPDATE: Sony’s PSN Server Status page has changed and now lists all major PlayStation Network services as being available on PS4 and PS5 consoles.
And with all services now listed as being up and running, all PSN users should be back online very soon. PSN servers were down for two hours for some gamers tonight.
ORIGINAL: Gamers struggling to sign in and play their favourite games have been hit by a new issue on PS4 and PS5 consoles.
Thousands of reports are coming in tonight that the PSN is down and that core services are not working as they should.
Issues started being shared online by affected gamers at around 8pm BST and are continuing on August 31.
One user confirmed that they had been booted from a live game, confirming: “Was anyone else on warzone or Cold War when this happened? It literally booted me out of a 15 kill rebirth game.”
It appears that most players affected tonight can no longer sign into their PSN accounts or play games online.
It’s unclear what has caused tonight’s outage or how long the PlayStation Network could be affected by it.
