One of the only Xbox Series X exclusives due out this year, The Medium, has had to be pushed into 2021, but only by a month.
Unlike the PlayStation 5, the Xbox Series X/S will lack any killer exclusives when it launches next week, forced to rely on its Game Pass service and third party games.
While it wasn’t a launch title, horror game The Medium was going to be its first exclusive once it released in December, taking full advantage of the console’s capabilities to create an experience not possible on the Xbox One.
Unfortunately, Polish studio Bloober Team has broken the news that it is delaying the game until next year due to the coronavirus situation in Poland.
This also means it doesn’t have to compete with Cyberpunk 2077, which was recently delayed to December 10, the same day The Medium was originally going to come out.
Still, this isn’t an ideal situation for Microsoft. It already had to delay Halo Infinite – what was supposed to the Xbox Series X/S’ killer app – until an unspecified date in 2021.
Compare this to the PlayStation 5 which, aside from sharing a large number of games with the new Xbox, also has exclusives like Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Demon’s Souls that have already captured fans’ attention.
The Medium will release for Xbox Series X/S and PC on January 28 2021.
