The New Fate Movie Is Getting 4DX Screenings

On Thursday, the official website for the Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel, a Japanese anime film trilogy produced by Ufotable, directed by Tomonori Sudō, written by Akira Hiyama, and featuring music by Yuki Kajiura, announced that the third film, Fate/stay night Heaven’s Feel III. spring song, will be released in 4DX in 82 theaters in Japan starting on September 4. The film focuses on Shirou Emiya and Sakura Matou, who must contend with the Holy Grail War.

The film, which opened in Japan on August 15, debuted at number one during the August 15 to 16 weekend. The film sold 270,000 tickets for roughly $4.48 million in its opening weekend. Although Aniplex had originally announced that the film would premiere on March 28, it finally delayed the film to April 25 before announcing that the film would be postponed until further notice as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

This series has three parts so far, with the first debuting at number one at the Japanese box office,  by both attendance and box office earnings in October 2017. The film sold  980,000 tickets to earn a total of $13.5 million.

That first film debuted in US in November-December 2017 with the English dub of the first film premiering in the United States in June 2018 and Canada in January 2018. Aniplex of America then released the film on Blu-ray Disc in November 2018.

The second film, Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel II opened in January 2019. The film debuted in the United States and Canada in March 2019. Spring Song was scheduled to premiere at The Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles on April 17 for North American audiences but Aniplex of America also pulled the event due to coronavirus pandemic. No new date has been set yet for the premiere, with coronavirus cases still surging across the US.
