Microsoft is updating its Microsoft Store on Xbox on Aug. 5. Xbox Insiders — people participating in Microsoft’s Xbox testing program — will get the update first before it “rolls out to all users this fall,” according to the company.
The sleek update was detailed in a news release on Xbox Wire. Microsoft said the new app was built “from the ground up to be faster, safer and easier to use than ever before.” Apparently, the Microsoft Store for Xbox will launch in two seconds, with an emphasis on faster loading times throughout.
As far as the app being easier to use, Microsoft “redesigned search functionality,” redid the Wish List feature, and updated the shopping cart. Likewise, Microsoft said it’s now easier to purchase “across four generations” of Xbox titles.

To get the Microsoft Store for Xbox update early, you’ll have to opt into the Xbox Insider program, which requires the Xbox Insider Hub app. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait until the update is rolled out to everyone this fall.
